This project was our response in support of the tsunami victims of Banda Ache, Indonesia. We decided to develop a design concept to provide a sense of security and permanence for the people hit by this natural disaster; therefore we proposed an organic wrapping pre-fabricated concrete housing unit system. The modular structures are resemble tree houses and lifted off the ground like the traditional local structures on stilts. The continuous curving walls and roofs provide a continuity and consistency in the overall collection of houses like the villages where the house provides the main focus for the family and its community. The individual units could be built as individual units or assembled in groups depending on the site conditions and social conditions based on the occupants needs and choices.
