Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV)
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Vietnam’s history for its independence through the ages has created an architectural diversity which lends itself to an architectural language that is local but it is also global.
The introduction of a bold symmetrical tower initiates the building’s interface with its surroundings. The two balanced corner clear openings redefines the strong tower shape and point out beyond its footprints to reach out the boundaries of the city. Another long narrow opening in the back reinforces the boundaries of the tower and its connectivity to its surrounding. The lines are carefully calculated and studied to achieve a proportional shape and size. A grand opening with skylight marks the main entrance which enters the building creating a six story open luminous space where balconies on either side look into. This dynamic monumental space brings the natural light into the core of the podium portion of the building where the transaction, national and international representative offices, BIDV finance banking, conference area, services office for lease and lobby areas are situated.
